In 1911 a half breed Native American robs a train unaided and gets away clean. He takes only one item from the baggage car, a small steel trunk. He is not sure exactly what is in it but believes it to be very valuable. Once in his possession he finds that it is. To avoid attracting attention he uses his hoard very sparingly. He lives a comfortable but low profile life and dies suddenly of natural causes 24 years later without telling anyone about his stash.

In present times, while doing an environmental assessment on a property he wants to develop, a struggling small time real estate developer stumbles across what remains of the treasure. Despite intensive covert research he cannot determine exactly what he has found and exploiting the discovery presents several problems. It is likely stolen. It is so rare that its value could be almost incalculable or it could be a protracted legal battle and, either way, it resides on land he does not own. To make matters even more daunting the property owner is asking much more for the land than it’s worth and has suspicions that there could be something very valuable hidden there. So how does the developer secure
ownership, enjoy possibly untold wealth and avoid spending the rest of his life supporting lawyers?

An unknown presence takes control of a UN General Assembly meeting and announces to the attendees that life on earth is about to end. The presence says it will end as a result of our sun going through a phase that all stars do during which Coronal Mass Ejections (CME’s) of a size never seen since higher forms of life inhabited the earth will occur. The CME’s will be strong enough to disrupt the magnetic field that protects earth from solar radiation. The presence provides specific near-term dates and conditions that will ramp up to the sun becoming so toxic that life on the earth’s surface will no longer be possible. The presence also offers to transport a small group of humans to a place that can be colonized and with a lot of hard work and luck could preserve our species. So how does earth react to this apocalyptic prediction and its accompanying offer of salvation from an unknown source?
